My next goal is for the 25th of July.

My departure is wednesday, 23th, for a 15 hours total trip… Only 1 rest night and go for the race !
The difficulty of this run is the climb (3000m) in a maximum allowed time of 4h30, but also the jetlag as I arrive there just the day before for logistical reasons, and the trip tireness.
Anyway I’ll do my best, and I wish I can take nice pictures !
Ma prochaine « expédition » est pour le 25 juillet.
Le départ est prévu le 23, pour 15 heures de voyage cumulées. Une seule nuit de repos sur place avant le départ de la course ! La difficulté est le dénivelé : 3000m en moins de 4h30, mais aussi, je le crains, le décalage horaire car mon arrivée la veille de la course ne me permettra pas de me recaler, ainsi que la fatigue du vol. N’ayant pas la possibilité d’allonger mon voyage pour arriver plus tôt, je ferai de mon mieux, et… j’espère que je pourrai prendre de belles photos !

1. compact. It can be carried in a pocket. Easy to access.
2. waterproof.
3. taking good quality photos.
4. shockproof (and everythingproof)

next run

I’m just organizing the last details for my next run. Expected to be in the end of July… Where? mmmh… East Asia… A Big Running Climb… In a maximum time. I need a bit more training, specially in moutain running, but I actually don’t have the time ! Family and holiday first… See you in a week…

Je suis en train de finaliser les derniers préparatifs de ma prochaine « expédition ». Qui aura lieu fin juillet… Où exactement? Asie du Sud-Est, je n’en dirai pas plus pour l’instant… Une grosse ascension… en courant, en un temps imparti! Qui nécessite un gros entraînement en dénivelé mais… en fait je manque un peu de disponibilité! Famille et vacances passent en premier ! Une petite semaine d’absence…

my camera is… out of order…

I’m afraid my little camera (a poor Nikon 5Mpix) is dead. This little box, full of technology, don’t like water, salt sweat, sugar gels, shocks, and all that make the trail running… 4 years with my little digital friend…

Time to find a new one ! (water-sugar-proof !) I’m waiting for the Pentax Optio W60, 10Mpix.
J’ai bien peur que mon petit appareil photo (Nikon 5MPix) soit mort. Un boîtier bourré d’électronique, mais qui n’aime ni l’eau, ni la sueur, ni les gels énergétiques, ni les chocs… bref ce qui fait le quotidien du trailer… 4 ans avec ce compagnon numérique…
Il est temps d’en trouver un nouveau ! (Étanche à l’eau, au sel et au sucre!) J’attends la sortie du Pentax Optio W60, 10 Mpix. Petit et costaud !

back from the Great Wall

I came back from Beijing after a few days there, with a lot of pictures in my camera, and more in my head…

I want to thank again the greatwallforum as they provided me some help for the tracks : I needed to divert a little from the Great Wall because of a forbidden military area, making me run through villages and shruberries… A bit difficult to find his way without a local guide, or a gps track!
What is my feedback after this run? Hard enough. Climbing, descending, all the time. High slopes, all the time. Stairs, broken steps, all the time. And warm air, to make it worst…
But what can you think when you are on top of a hill, with no-one in front of you, no-one behind you… You are alone in the Big China !

les 4000 marches

As a training session, I ran the 4000 steps climb, ascending the Aigoual, in the south of France… Not so easy (4300ft) but beautiful!

En guise d’entraînement, j’ai fait l’ascension (hors compétition) de l’Aigoual par la Montée des 4000 Marches. Pas très facile (1300m) surtout en gardant un rythme constant mais vraiment magnifique !

Hello to all ! As I can’t organize more than one expedition per month (and it’s a high frequency !) I’d like to give some news between the big dates… I hope it will give a bit more life in that site…

Bonjour à tous ! Étant donné que je ne peux organiser plus d’une expédition par mois (et encore, c’est déjà beaucoup !) je donnerai quelques nouvelles via ce blog, en espérant que cela donnera un peu plus de mouvement à ce site !
