OLYMPUS MARATHON Όλυμπος

 

The Mount Olympus is the highest mountain in Greece. 2919m (9600ft). But, as its base is at sea level, it’s one of the highest moutain in Europe from base to summit.

The mountain was regarded as the Home of Ancient Gods, and the highest peak of Olympus is also called «the Throne of Zeus».

The Race start from holy town of Dion, and finish in Litochoro, the «City of Gods», after 44km and 3200m of climb (10500ft), and 2900m of descent (9500ft).
