I’m going to push myself… I don’t want to take it too easy because the way I look at it…. The more time I spend out there the more I have to keep my nutrition under control. It’s probably going to be sometime late mid to late July

I don’t know the track beyond Kaweah Pass, but the first part has an elevation gain of 2000m (6000ft).
So I understand you intend to run by night ?
In full autonomy I mean carry your food and water (I heard it’s not recommended to fix stream water with chemical treatment because of resistent bacteria but I don’t know)…
I would love do that, but without food supplies… what a challenge!
Keep me advised !

I don’t there is any way I could do that in 15 hours…. I ran 75 miles of sea level trails with practically zero climbing in 14hours… haha

You have to go over trail crest… which is 13,000 ft… and with water crossings …. and and all the other passes… I can’t think of them off hand… I’d hope to do it around 24-26 hours…. with altitude and climbing it would slow me down considerably!

I’m from France.
72 miles by run.. I think you need 15h with a few stops because the way is a quite technical (at least you won’t have snow…). Without watching any view, no picture, etc… in full autonomy I mean with a 15lb bag at least.. What do you intend ? Exciting project !!!

A couple friends went from Crescent Meadow.. all the way to Mount Whitney portal…. the entire 72 miles of the High Sierra Trail…. I’m probably going to do it this year sometime in Late July or early Aug….. Except we’re going to run from MW Portal to Crescent Meadow…. the « easy » way…
